Anyone else going to boycott Grand Theft Auto VI because of the no physical disc issue?

I am a fan of GTA, I have (almost) every single GTA game ever made. All physical copies. However I will not be supporting any game without being provided a physical copy and many are saying the same today. Some people say there will wait for the game to be leaked for emulation on PC. I think in today's age that could very possibly happen in the future.

Yes but for different reasons. Locking gameplay features (missions, shops and customisation) behind a higher price tag is a scummy way of making the price higher than what people would be willing to pay for an individual game.

>Sony deletes movies bought from their consumer base
>Same time announcing everything will become digital and more expensive

Face it, 2014 hit peak consumer-friendly technology and everything being made after that year has pretty much turned into surveillance rip-off garbage with very few exceptions. The whole "cloud" concept was an awful idea and should have never been adopted or accepted by consumers. If we buy something, we deserve to own it. If we own it, we should have full control over it. ALL third party services should be boycotted and same with anything that is forced to connect to the "cloud" to function. This is why I own physical media and physical storage of digital media. What the corporations have done is literally justify piracy for millions of consumers. Why would we buy access to our favorite movies and music when it will simply be taken away sometime in the future!? Fuck that.

I'm done with buying new games unless they are physical. I'm going back to emulators and roms. I'm keeping all my physical copies and simply play those games from now on. If corporations want to do this then they get $0 from me anymore. If you want to be retarded and ask me for a digital ID or subscription I'll pass. Nah. Fuck you. I'll keep buying and keeping the old stuff. Thrift shops, antique malls, book stores, farmer markets, yard and garage sales will be getting my business. Goodbye corporate glow niggers. You all glow. You glow oh so very bright, brighter than staring into the sun.

GTA 6 isn't going to be worth $80 anyways

I really don't give a shit about physical disks. I do however think that Rockstar is a shit company and the talent behind the older games isn't around anymore, so I won't be buying it due to that.
And knowing Rockstar, the game will probably be free on the Epic store or whatever that platform is called that kids use to play Fortnite/Etc. after a year just like GTA V, because most of the income will be from GTA VI online. Guarantee it.

I'm sticking with mostly PS4 games from now on, all physical. I don't have too many games anyway, I have all the GTA games and some of the older Resident Evil remakes origins, 1 - 4 and 7. I have a few other misc games like Tormented Souls too which is kinda a knock off of the original Resident Evil survival horror game.

I'm just worried that Sony is going to kill switch the PS5 at some point with DRM, not allowing you to play any of the old games including the hard copies. If they do that then fuck Sony I won't ever buy anything from them again if they try that shit.

Plus I've been getting into retro game emulation and mods, there is a whole other world out there, shit you can keep offline and local on your drives and hardware.

I've never had that happen to me thankfully. I still own a 25 year old 5 disc shuffler stereo with a double tape deck and I've listened to hundreds if not thousands of CDs on it over the years. It still works wonderfully. Probably because in those times you could still buy quality products that were not connected to the internet.

God damn it do I miss the good old days where you could walk into an electronics store and buy good quality products, no subscriptions needed to work, no internet connection forced down your throat just to use the product you buy, you bought it you owned it outright, you could pay with cash that was the norm, fucking face to face employee assistance when needed (employees smiling ready to help you figure out what your looking for ready to answer questions, all friendly).

I have such a deep sadness that so many of this shopping experience has been lost. Not everywhere mind you.... but overall in modern America service is absolute SHIT today and so are new products, it reflects a deep decline in our society and it's a damn shame.

I have had this happen with DVD players when it comes to regional play if the DVDs are not from a designated country of origin. However there were many ways to get around it, DVDShrink being one way, you could rip the contents and burn a copy onto a blank DVD to your specified region, or no designated region. The copies would play no problem. I assume some CD players had regional protections as well?

Never get rid of the old tech that still works, it is worth it's weight in gold especially with the future looking extremely bleak in a rental slave fake and gay forced-surveillance economy.
