It already has been. Industrial outsourcing the last four decades. The student loan debt slavery trap. The out of control costs for housing and rent. Manufactured food scarcity due to high fuel and fertilizer prices and wars. Endless wars bankrupted the country with massive debt and destroyed the purchasing power of our dollar. Taxpayer bailouts to corrupt and insolvent banks and corporations that act as hollow blood-sucking unproductive parasites feeding off a dying host. Mergers and acquisitions created monopolies and the death of the free market, consumer choice. There are entire cities and states overrun with crime while the rights of law abiding citizens have been chipped away. I'd say we are pretty close to becoming a full blown third world country, one that no longer resembles anything American at all.
