The late 1990s and early 2000s was peak capitalism for average consumers. You could still buy very good quality products in retail stores. Sure, you would often pay a hefty price but the products were built to last generations and most still work today. No nonsense subscriptions needed, no internet required to function, you bought it you owned it. We need to go back to that kind of real economy or future generations will never have the satisfaction of living in a true free market. They'll never know what it is like to save up money and the thrill of buying something and owning it for a lifetime.

Face it, the forced-surveillance rental 'economy' we have today is FAKE and GAY on ass-fucking hemorrhoids. Try changing my mind.

Capitalism is dead, it was killed and replaced by a tech oligarchy that was created and subsidized by government, with the help of the Federal Reserve, who own 90% of the shares in the fully monopolized stock market. They killed the free market because they hated the competition. They want feudalism back. They want cheap labor third world slaves. They are trying to create wars to kill off as many "goyim" who, ONCE UPON A TIME, lived under a free market capitalism as possible. That is the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. Until these parasites are hung from trees or shot out of existence the truth will remain and wealth of the common public will dry up and the nation we once knew will cease to exist, forever.

It all started going bad right after the iPod and iPhone craze, now most people only use smartphones and pads. Worse due monopolization and centralization of the economy in the hands of a few, and government, now everything is being made with internet backdoors and bluetooth surveillance crap. Now any modern utility can be used for eavesdropping and vulnerable to hacking. And of-course the politicians and government act like they care when networks get breached but they really don't, it's part of the shit show they themselves created in the first place. Always need a scapegoat so "China man bad hurrr durrr".

Libertarians think that they should give up defending freedom because Americans hate liberty, but Libertarians should keep resisting tyranny for selfish reasons.

While the elites control the money, government, and media, the 99% have the numbers.

One Libertarian may not be able to resist being sent to the concentration camps, but one million people might.

this is the true end goal of a continual 'free market', obviously, because it happened. we are in true end-goal capitalism, where the big corporations and tech companies hold a monopoly not just on the market, but over the government too.

The irony is the cheap plastic shit in OP's pics were never good and were constantly broken. Except for that little mixer. I had a Peavy of a similar design and it was real nice. ...until it, too, broke.

Everything is illegal, everyone is a criminal, everyone is under surveillance 24/7, and no one cares.

Living in a police state means that you must live in dread of being arrested. You can't help feeling hopeless.

yes. if the government doesn't do anything or intervene in the economic market, this is what happens. i don't know what the fuck you're arguing against, this has been shown in our own fucking society time and time and time again.
small companies cant get a foot up in a true free market because the big companies will just kill them off. thats the point, yes.

The capitalist market is heading towards a new low today, as the matter is no longer just about selling inferior goods, but companies are moving towards leasing. In the new world, you don't really own anything, and in my opinion, that's much worse.

It will never come back because not enough people are demanding it come back. Normies are not willing to ditch their smartphones, they are not willing to cancel their streaming services, they are not willing to boycott "smart" cloud services and devices, they are not willing to stick with older technology stubbornly with enough passion to scare the shit out of big tech companies and co-opted governments. This is the sole reason most people can't have good things because they just don't care enough to own them and take responsibility as stubborn customers who demand good quality goods and services, who are willing to boycott subscription-only bullshit. So here I am, typing this on an outdated Windows 7 bootleg on a 12 year old laptop hoping a bunch of clowns will agree with me but that probably will never happen and it's over, nothing good will ever come of anything anymore, everything is so fake and gay, can't wait to permanently retire off this shithole rock. I'll remain stubborn to my death.

Monopolies were once illegal and we had laws and regulation against monopoly, only they are no longer enforced because the entire government became corrupted and now go out of their way protecting and defending monopolization.

True, but having an older stereo system is still dope and cool. I have a ton of CDs I'm never getting rid of and being able to play them on a traditional stereo with a 5x CD shuffler takes me back and just sounds great. Having the physical media for it means YOU own the music, it can't be edited, censored, hacked or deleted by third parties. It is the liberation of ownership.

As for those older laptops and PCs, ... dude! I got a closet full of them. I used to assemble my own computers back in the early to mid-2000s. I got old PC towers with boxes of spare parts GALORE. I have bootable ISOs of all kinds of older and modern operating systems in DVD binders. Including tons of software I've used over the years, all of it backed up. You are right, laptops and PCs can be refurbished to hook up to analog devices and/or HDMI and play bulk media using TVs to surround sound speakers with amplifiers and mixers for large music collections. Been there, done that, have my own set up for it. What is nice is owning this older technology to do it, owning your fucking media, keeping it offline and having it protected and stored properly for preservation. NOTHING.... and I mean NOTHING beats that. No streaming service beats that. No modern third party 'smart' device beats that.

Yeah those old PCs are awesome. I love the comprehensive set of audio jacks they used to have. You can plug a guitar into these fuckers!

Gotta be careful about static electricity though. Those old PC audio jacks were real sensitive to static. Touch em wrong and bzzzt, it's fried

I'm going off pure memory here so correct me if I'm wrong but I believe this is why I used m-audio adapters which would help convert analog to digital safely and lossless quality.

....Or just image board talk? I assume the static issue with audio jacks may be with an amplifier that is ON while connecting to an adapter, which is why most people say turn the amplifier and/or mixer on AFTER analog input.

oh, so i should cut power to the computer before swapping audio jacks. makes sense

Anonymous 08/31/2026 (Mon) 14:45 [Preview] No.79942 del

The main accidents I recall happening to people like myself is when an amplifier is already on, connected to a speaker system, and the amp power was boosted before plugging in the audio jacks. If there is a static shock during connection it can send a wave of current that; because the amp is on high power; it blows the speakers and can mess with the analog connection too. Mind you, this is often rare but yes it has happened to me once before and I was forced to replace my speaker system which sucked ass because I had to wait and save up for 8 months before replacing them. I remember many years ago someone saying there was some kind of trick or solution for avoiding the static shock but for the life of me can't even remember the details.
