What do you do and how do you properly respond to a long-time friend who is kinda starting to "lose his marbles" as in obviously mentally unstable and having issues with coping with reality? I won't get into too many details but one friend I have had since I was a child is really starting to concern me when I talk to him over the phone. It's as if he is becoming extremely unhinged, angry, mad at the world, paranoid and it is obviously causing social problems for him now. It is getting to a point he might end up burning too many bridges and might end up doing something really stupid. I honestly do not know how to respond to him and if I say something ' ' wrong ' ' he tends to go into fits of rage, screaming and cussing. Poor guy has already had problems with drinking and heavy drug use in the past, I do not wish to see him going back in jail or worse. If he does not get a job soon he may end up homeless and begging for charity. How would you go about this if it were a good long-time friend of yours?
