The world, and in that our lives is what we make out of it. There are circumstances we cannot change and we get dealt a hand we have to work with, and these varies a lot from person to person, so our settis could be very restricted depending.
Sure there are "valiant souls" but a person is a breddy complex thing. I'm sure even if he lives up to that title in his entire life, some people he meets will definitely consider him as an asshole, and those don't have to be "bad" people.
There's this view that our existence are series trials which ennobles the soul as it goes through consecutive lives (via reincarnation). A failure means another life with different hardships.

By valiant soul I don't mean soul as in a literal soul. Whether the soul exists or not is not so important in this case. But you will see that throughout history there are numerous people that could be seen as special with special characteristics, you could call them legends, heroes, valiant souls or what else you like. People like Nelson, Napoleon, Blutcher and William Light that all exist in this same time and interact with the events of the world and each other through this if even not directly, although these valiant souls do also tend to gravitate towards each other and interact directly. What can a valiant soul do know? Do we even know if they exist anymore? They probably may not and perhaps it's not that the world is not fit for them but that because there are none the world has become what it is.

Maybe not deep sea but there are lots of interesting thinks along the shoreline that I might want to explore(well not here). Most nations have flood myths and it's because the sea has risen and as cities are want to be sited along bodies of water many of them were flooded. I think that would be nice to explore if they don't all get discovered before I can.

In our lifetime it is possible that sea levels will rise to the point that much of the coastal cities and regions of the earth are sunken, including the Kingless state of savages known as Bangladesh in all of it's entirety.

Should this come to pass then with any luck the world will be thrown into chaos as the myriad of brown folk fight over the land and resources that remain. Sadly I think I will be too old to take a part in this however, I don't know which sovereign would be deserving my service anyway.
