Dead internet theory is becoming real and so is the threat of brain rot among younger generations.

Social media is so fake and gay OP. The real pleasure is meeting people IRL. The first difficulty most people have, sometimes I do myself, is to start a meaningful conversation. Once you get used to it and practice it becomes a little bit easier but the first time meeting someone is often a little bit awkward. When you do start getting to know someone it gets easy and can be a fun time talking and hanging out. Drinking may help but don't ever overdue it or drink too fast because that can ruin relationships as fast as you make them LOL!

Same.
Well almost, I have a few but that doesn't mean much, relative to how - I'm trying to say this without sounding like a total asshole - how skilled I am at certain things. It only takes one person working with you that could take you to another level in terms of reach. If they think you do everything alone you're worthless to most people. I don't know if you do creative stuff. But this is where I am now.

I still have friends I know from back in the day, thing is everyone seems so busy now. Not that I don't get to spend any time with them, on some occasions I do. Just not very frequently anymore now that we are all older. Same thing with relatives too, always so damn busy it's only once or twice a year we ever get together and mingle. Hell, I hear more from my nearby neighbors than I do from my friends and family these days. I do understand I have my own faults though, for example I've always been the "lush" of the family. That one uncle or brother who drinks too much LOL. Maybe it rubbed off on people over the years, don't really know, but even so it wouldn't surprise me since so many in society today walk around like they have sticks up their asses.

Yeah, of course we can't fully diagnoze you and give precise advice but it seems like you have a hunch why things are what they are. Drink too much, wallow in self-pity, not prosocial, idk. Then the question is why. I'm a bit surprised I'm not an alcoholic myself. I just smoke cigarettes, go to outdoor gym once a week, seldom go for a walk.. then stare at screens the whole remaining time.

Drinking turns some people off perhaps, but all of my friends, at least back in the day, were all very heavy drinkers. When I was young drinking was normalized by media and society, it's just what average Americans did when socializing and having fun. It was not frowned upon at all, much like smoking in the 1950s it was actually promoted and glorified, drinking was advertised. I still have friends and family members that drink just maybe not as much as I currently still do. Luckily I am a functional alcoholic, I don't drink 24/7, just pretty much every other night but a lot of booze when I do.

I do keep in contact with people I know often, it just seems everyone is so busy these days. Everyone has to work even though many are over retirement age. Some are too busy still raising families or helping raise a family when both parents have to work multiple jobs. Almost makes me kinda feel guilty in a way that I have so much spare time on my hands. I was dealt a pretty good set of cards in life and inheritance helped me a lot. Maybe I should cut back on the booze and you should cut back on the screen time, probably would do both of us some good.
