That's a myth. We never really needed them but with weather getting hotter + for longer periods; a lot of people are getting them.

After we hit 40°C some years ago I decided to install AC too.
I use it maybe a few weeks a year in the bedroom for sleeping (I would simply sleep downstairs in the past).
The main use case is when there's a long heatwave and the heat gets inside, which takes a while if you have triple layer solid brick walls.
This is why muricans need truly need AC, paper walls don't keep heat outside.

Anyways I've just watched/ listened to a podcast with Domen Novak.
Very interesting stuff. Apparently there are loads of guys on UAE that put out insane numbers in training(almeida, Christen) but can't seem to reproduce them in races.
The core of the team is apparently very tight.
Soler is the funniest guy on the team.
Ayuso was cancer.
Wellens call out most of the team tactics.
Pablo Torres is a weak mind.
Most of the pedalton jobbers are on a similar level but the main thing holding them back is their head.

if you look at novak on pcs he's never dominated anything. I'm pretty sure most wt pros never really interfaced with amateur or low tier conti racing, they rise through the highest tier of junior racing (which already is conti racing) and get scouted early, even if they are not winning they can still get noticed for good fitness or endurance in races or something. There are many junior/club teams (not just the obvious devo or feeder teams) that have good ties to higher tier teams and they get the kids in contact with agents or scouts
