The issue of the Russian ban of Endchan was discussed on the affected boards: /rus/, /librejp/ and /kc/.
Basically all comments expressed the same: every Russian censor "kann mich im Arsche lecken!" So noone cares whatever the Roskomnadzor do and Russian posters should learn how to bypass their shit.

By hidden i mean not show up in latest boards and board section.

I want to talk about some niche (its legal) things with only a group of people i let them know about. Is it possible to hide and not show up in latest posts?

If you've been paying attention to odili's twitter then you've noticed that we plan to do a "migration." We've sat on our broken database for too damn long and it's preventing the site from crawling out of the hole it's been stuck in since twenty-fucking-seventeen, so we're going to be starting from a clean database and importing stuff on a best-effort basis instead of praying that a hacked-together document extraction script will make everything all better.

You will keep your boards, accounts and banners. These should be the easiest things to dump by hand anyway.

The current plan is that around next week (June 15th) we'll be setting up a "new" instance of lynxchan and keeping the site you're using right now active. This is going to be a recent stable version of lynxchan, so it'll be faster and more stable than what you're using now even before taking into account the DB issues. Stay tuned for further details, but given the amount of archival-grade stuff floating around here I want to avoid the "surprise! that thread you bookmarked is gone" problem if at all possible. There will be advance warning.

What is up with all the censorship, half TOR ips are banned and they call these chans sites of free speech yet ban TOR or proxies with the excuse of spam til year 2050 or so, but I just keep reading that they have a lot of volunteers then why not just remove the real spam or CP instead of use it as an excuse to ban the only way (TOR) to protect us we, NWO system opposition other than CP there is no reason to ban anything else
So can you ENDCHAN owner just unban a heck of a lot (or all) TOR IPs and then just remove CP only, come on this is not fucking big tech silicon valley nigger kike lovers
BTW 8chan.moe is not letting upload images from TOR anyone know what is happening and hopes this doesn't happen here or else folks will start seeking for an alternative

I would like to make use of the already existing /dump/ board
But the last owner purposely vandalized it with custom css, by making the input form unusable

The common input fields, like subject, name, mail, comment, etc, have a custom css making them display: none;
It's possible to circumvent that vandalism by browser direct css editing, but that doeasn't change the board is currently vandalized

Can any admin or site moderator clear the css vandalism? And remove the previous person responsible for the vandalism?
There are also some leftovers of porn spam vandalism, in addition to the css vandalism, could the porn spam be removed too by a site mod?


On a side note, I wouldn't mind taking ownership of that board myself, but I'm still waiting for the confirmation email to validate my account, which isn't coming at all

6th birthday

When we started Endchan, to me, it was a bet on user experience. 8chan was going to switch to InfinityNext, which now 9chan uses. I bet that users would not like the instant jump to a radical new interface and prefer the older interface.

8chan was leaving Infinity, their existing software, for many reasons. Mainly it was hacked together without much thought to the structure. InfinityNext was a carefully approached re-imagination of what 8chan could be.

Selecting infinity for Endchan was not wise for a couple reasons. First what if InfinityNext was never finished. This was a real concern at the time, we even name our git repos InfinityNow as a joke around this idea it may never happen. And we had this luxury because not only had I made an imageboard engine and turned it into an archival system called Futabilly for 8archive after its backend couldn’t keep up. But mainly because StephenLynx had started a project after InfinityNext and before Futabilly and he had a great fast engine ready to be put to the test. 8TailedLynx a theme for Lynxchan also helped provide a similar interface to 8chan. My engine didn’t have no-js support, so it wasn’t even an option.

We were the prime Lynxchan instance for a couple of years until the disagreements over the direction of LynxChan added up and I just decide it would back-port features and fixes as needed. This has left our site feeling old and stale. We’ve had a couple boards disagree with our decision and have left for new instances running with the latest LynxChan.

InfinityNext was somewhat completed but 8chan failed to migrate to it. It was handed off to NextChan which they continued some development until Josh regained the will to implement another chunk and launched 9chan.

Josh’s 9chan plans didn’t quite work out as he expected and said if someone, like us, didn’t take over he was going to shut it down.

After we took over 9chan, over the next year we learned what it cost to not have a strong personality as well as lead developer with the promise to continue to transform imageboards into the future.

I had some code for a new imageboard / social media hybrid, called WrongThink. And after discussion with some other developers, one proposed the idea of unifying all sites under one look and feel.

I'd like to reorganize the homepage:

I'd like to re-arrange the categories. We're more of a international board, we should embrace that.

I'd like to remove the news and latest posts section and replace with the eye of sauron type live-overboard that you can filter.

One idea could be an oekaki board in hopes to pull more artists in.

In the few past hours it's been a struggle to upload even small files of barely 1 MB
Is this happening only to me? or is it a common occurrence for the site bandwidth to be unreliable and irregular?
