But it depends. There is a difference between snow and snow.
If it's deep virgin snow it's like walking in water, except a bit lighter easier, but doing it for kms it's tiring - especially uphill.
On a path its often trudged down by people but only after a lot of traffic will be compact. So it moves under your feet in lumps and all the muscles need to work to keep in balance. And when it's compact it's a bit slippery.
And in the forest you can't see the ground, if there are rocks or torn branches or even a smaller ditch. So it makes walking difficult.
